Our Story
Two NYC-Trained Chefs.
One Hartford Home.
The Salt & Pepper partnership was forged long before we hit the road. We both built our foundations in New York City, training at the country’s top culinary institutes and learning the discipline required to succeed in the nation's most competitive kitchens.
While Sean was mastering the coastal techniques of San Francisco, Power Minor was beginning his career at the iconic Pearl Oyster Bar before establishing himself as a vital force in the Greater Hartford landscape. We finally crossed paths at Firebox, where Power served as Chef de Cuisine and Sean brought his West Coast expertise. Our shared NYC background and mutual passion for quality helped us turn the restaurant into a local landmark.
We eventually decided to take that "big city" discipline and apply it to a more mobile, approachable concept. We started with the Salt & Pepper Food Truck to bring chef-driven food to the streets, and that same energy now fuels our expanded catering program.

The Chefs
Chef Sean Farrell
Co-Founder & Operator
Sean is the operational lead and strategist for the Salt & Pepper brand. His foundation was built in the nation’s most influential kitchens, starting at the Institute of Culinary Education (NYC). He sharpened his craft under Chef Wayne Nish at March and refined his discipline with Alain Ducasse at Mix before moving to San Francisco to work at celebrated institutions like Aqua (under Laurent Manrique) and Farallon (under Mark Franz). Sean’s expertise lies in taking those world-class standards and scaling them into a modern, high-energy catering operation, ensuring every event is executed with professional precision.
Chef Power Minor
Co-Founder & Culinary Director
An equal partner and the culinary heart of Salt & Pepper, Power Minor brings a deep, intuitive understanding of flavor to the brand. His journey began at the iconic Pearl Oyster Bar under Chef Rebecca Charles. A graduate of the French Culinary Institute (FCI), he spent years in the NYC trenches before becoming a staple of the Hartford food scene. As the Chef de Cuisine at Firebox, Power was the engine behind the restaurant’s technical success. As Culinary Director, he is the "keeper of the special sauce," using his profound gift for flavor balance and French-trained discipline to ensure every dish is unforgettable.
